Description

FSJ1, FSJ4, LDF2 and LDF4 cable assemblies are supplied to required lengths with factory-attached connectors. The minimum allowable cable bending radius is 1" (25 mm) for FSJ1, 1.25" (32 mm) for FSJ4, 3.75" (95 mm) for LDF2 and 5" (125 mm) for LDF4.
Notice

The installation, maintenance, or removal of antenna systems requires qualified, experienced personnel. Andrew installation instructions have been written for such personnel. Antenna systems should be inspected once a year by qualified personnel to verify proper installation, maintenance, and condition of equipment.

1 Uncoil the cable to position the antenna connector at the base of the tower. Attach a hoist line to the cable -- not to the antenna connector -- and raise the cable to the antenna position. Anchor the top portion of the cable to the tower and allow enough slack to avoid strain on the antenna connection.
2 Connect the cable to the antenna. Hand-tighten the connection and wrap it with several layers of vinyl or other weatherproofing tape.
3 Anchor the cable to the tower at intervals of 18" (457 mm) for FSJ1 and FSJ4, and 36" (914 mm) for LDF2 and LDF4. Use only Type 27290A jacketed tie wires, as shown here, or Type 40417 weather-resistant nylon cable ties -- do not use stainless steel strapping or hose clamps. Carefully make the final twists of the tie wire so there is no excessive stress on the cable.
4 Route the cable into the radio equipment shelter and form a water drain loop in the cable outside the shelter. Connect the cable to the radio equipment and hand-tighten the connection.
