Positioning Struts

Struts should be positioned as close to zero
degrees (parallel to the horizon) in elevation as possible
when installed. Azimuth positioning should be parallel to
the path of the antenna. If this cannot be done, struts
may be positioned within the angular limits shown in the
illustrations.

Tightening Strut Clamp Assemblies

Tighten the setscrews. Next, tighten the jam nuts
against the bracket and then tighten the clamp
mounting bolt.
Remove Excess Strut Length

After the antenna is aligned and fully secured,
excess strut length should be removed as a personal safety
percaution. Cut off the strut approximately 305 mm (12")
beyond the strut clamp assembly. Apply cold galvanizing
compound to the cut end of the strut.
