Turnbuckle Bracket
Position the antenna in the center of the support ring and tighten the U-bolts. Attach trunnion collars to the trunnion ends and push them tightly against the pivot brackets. Use 1/2" x 3-1/2" (89 mm) bolts, flat washers, nuts and Palnuts. Tighten the bolts.
Attach the elevation ratchet turnbuckle to the turnbuckle bracket on the support ring and the antenna flange as shown in Figure 7. Use a clevis pin and cotter pins at each end. This assembly can be replaced by an elevation strut after final adjustment of elevation.
Pivot Brackets of Mount
Apply grease to the threads of the elevation struts. Attach the shorter strut to the strut mounting bracket on the rear of the support ring and the longer strut to the bracket at the front of the ring as shown in Figure 8. Attach the front strut to the antenna with a clevis pins and cotter pins. The rear strut is attached to the antenna when the elevation ratchet turnbuckle is removed after final elevation adjustment. Keep the strut hardware very loose for elevation adjustment.
Note: When an extreme elevation angle of greater than 2.75° is anticipated, a hold-down clip under the rear strut can interfere. For maximum strut clearance, invert the attaching hardware for that clip. The same applies for a negative elevation angle greater than -2.75°, which requires the short strut be placed at the antenna front.
