Figure 4
same side (left or right) as the red side of the feed hub.
The system planner must advise the antenna installer of
the feed and shield position to be used.

As the shield is lowered into position, insert a 1/4" (6
mm) thick plywood shim between each point of shield
overlap and the reflector. Loosely attach the shield to
the reflector with the shield flange bolts so that the nuts
are barely threaded onto the bolts.

Carefully upack the RF gasket and place it around the
shield without stretching it or snagging it on the J-bolt
brackets, allowing the gasket to lay on the shims as
shown in Figure 3. Make sure that each gasket clip fully
engages a shield flange bolt.

Insert a screwdriver between a gasket clip and the
reflector on both sides of a shim. Pry up the shield
slightly and pull out the shim. Tuck the protruding part of
the gasket into place before lowering the shield and
removing the screwdrivers.

Tighten the shield flange bolts while forcing the gasket
clips against them with a screwdriver. Next, tighten the
shield splice-block bolts. Finally, tighten the shield
overlap bolts.

Check the plastic fasteners that hold the RF absorber in
place. Replace fasteners that have snapped off during
assembly with the spares provided.

4. Attach Feed
Lift the antenna upright and attach the feed to the reflector
according to the instructions packed with the feed.
Also verify the required feed orientation with the system
planner. Keep the antenna upright for mount attachment.
