4.2 The Compressor Does Not Run

Check to make sure that the unit is correctly
connected to the specified power source and that
the power source is delivering voltage within the
specified range for the dehydrator.

Warning:The following procedure should be
performed only by a certified technician.

Disconnect the unit from the power source and
remove the top cover. Check for loose wiring within
the compressor section of the dehydrator chassis.
Reconnect any loose wiring per the unit wiring
diagram and retest the unit. If no loose wiring is
found:

DC Units. Check the voltage between pins 1 and
3 of J50 on the DC to DC converter board. It
should measure 11 to 13 volts, DC. If so, proceed
with the next paragraph. If not, replace the
converter board and retest the unit.

AC and DC units. If the DC converter board is
working properly, or if it is an AC unit, check the
voltage between the ground terminal on input
terminal strip and the common contact on the
compressor control pressure switch (PS1). If no
voltage is present, replace the on/off switch.

If the on/off switch is functioning properly, check
the voltage between the ground terminal on input
terminal strip and the common contact on the
compressor control pressure switch (PS1). If no voltage
is present, replace the circuit breaker.

If the circuit breaker is functioning properly, check
the voltage between the ground terminal on input
terminal strip and the normally closed contact on the
compressor control pressure switch (PS1). If no
voltage is present, replace the compressor control
pressure switch. If voltage is present and the compressor
still does not run, replace the compressor.

4.3 Desiccant Changes Color from
Wrong End of Indicator Window

The desiccant in the indicator window on the front
panel of the dehyrdrator should turn pink starting in
the left hand side of the indicator window and
travelling to the right. If the desiccant starts to turn pink in
the right hand side of the window instead of the left,
check the hose connections on the rear of the unit to
insure that the output hose is connected to right hand
end of the upper desiccant cartridge.

If the tubing is properly connected and the desiccant
starts to turn pink on the right hand side of the
window first, then the transmission line system has not
been properly purged. There is moisture in the
system that is bleeding back into the desiccant cartridge
when the compressor is not operating. Purge the
transmission line per the instructions in Section 2.8.
