6. If necessary, install new standard sections using the procedures given in Section 3. Continue until only a final section needs replacement.

7. Cover this side of the opened line with one of the supplied plastic bags.

8. Support the 8-ft (2.5 m) segment of damaged cable on the antenna side of the line and, if necessary, remove the U-bolt from the hanger. Save the U-bolt and the hanger hardware.
Then, remove the flange hardware and slide the outer conductor back about 18 inches (460 mm). Discard the flange hardware.

9. Use the reciprocating power saw to cut completely through the inner conductor, leaving at least a 16-inch (410 mm) length extending from the remaining transmission line. The separated segment can be discarded.
