Impact On The Antenna and
Transmission Line System

Types of Antennas

For 2-GHz Systems, three antenna types are typically
used: grid, parabolic, unshielded standard parabolic and
shielded high performance (HP-Series) antennas. (Figure
1, 2-GHz Private System Antenna Types). The majority
of private 2-GHz systems currently use either a grid or a
standard antenna. Only in cases where the system is
located in a frequency congested area is a shielded (HP
Series) antenna used.
