Place the reflector facing upward. A crane can be used as an aid for large reflectors. First, carefully raise the reflector so that it rests on the rim. Then, carefully lower the reflector so that it rests on wooden supports placed under the antenna mounting ring. Place wooden braces as needed to hold the reflector in a stable position. |

Lift the shield and position it on the reflector. For large shields, a crane can be used and the cables attached to the radome J-bolt brackets located either 90° or 120° apart. Position the shield so that the red stripe on the shield aligns with the red stripe on the reflector rim. This rim marking indicates the top of the antenna. As the shield is lowered into postition, insert a 1/4" (6-mm) thick plywood shim between each shield joint and the reflector. |

Loosely attach the shield to the reflector with the shield flange bolts so that the nuts are barely threaded onto the bolts. Move the shield as necessary to align the bolt holes. Insert each bolt with a flat washer on it from the reflector side and add a flat washer, lock washer, and nut from the shield side. Do not tighten the bolts. |

Use care when unpacking and handling the RF gasket. Crimp one of the two gasket clips onto one end of the gasket. Hook this clip on a flange bolt between the flange and the reflector. Guide the gasket into this gap and against the bolts completely around the antenna. Crimp the other gasket clip to the gasket at the next bolt beyond the first clip. Trim the gasket at the clip and hook the clip to he bolt. |
